Dr. Bryan Appleby-Wineberg is Associate Professor of Trumpet and Brass at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, where he is Head of the Brass Division, Assistant Chairman of the Department, and Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Music. At Rowan, he teaches studio trumpet, the brass and trumpet ensembles, weekly brass master classes, and Trumpet Methods. In addition he is currently Principal Trumpet of Bay-Atlantic Symphony, a member of the Riverside Symphonia, and Co-Principal Cornet of the Atlantic Brass Band (Ensemble-in-Residence) at Rowan University. He is former Principal Trumpet of the Haddonfield Symphony (for four seasons 2001-2005) and the Evansville (IN) Philharmonic Orchestra (for three seasons 1994-1997). Prior to joining the Rowan faculty, Dr. Appleby-Wineberg was Principal Trumpet of the Jupiter Symphony in New York, performing three concerts per week in a 30 week season. He holds the D.M.A. from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University having served as a Doctoral Fellow in Trumpet there for three years, with additional degrees from The Oberlin Conservatory of Music (B.M) in Trumpet and Music education and The Cleveland Institute of Music (M.M.) where he was awarded the 1994 Bernard Adelstein Prize in Trumpet. His teachers include Peter Bond, Second Trumpet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, James Darling, Fourth Trumpet of The Cleveland Orchestra, Charles Couch, Assistant Principal Trumpet of The Cleveland Orchestra, and Armando Ghitalla.
